Introduction

You will play a key role in the sourcing and management of agriculture and soil mitigation projects in South Africa, including our flagship program, as a member of the Projects & Development team. You will support the sourcing strategy, partnership management, and technical assessment of new business possibilities as part of the sourcing operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

You will play a key role in the sourcing and management of agriculture and soil mitigation projects in South Africa, including our flagship program, as a member of the Projects & Development team. You will support the sourcing strategy, partnership management, and technical assessment of new business possibilities as part of the sourcing operations.
You will be in charge of managing and researching soil carbon as part of carbon development activities, assessing appropriate Agriculture and Land Management (ALM) carbon development methodologies, and helping to develop the full project cycles, including the design of monitoring and reporting systems.
You will be guiding the technical division as part of the program by offering advice on sustainable agricultural methods, soil carbon dynamics, model updating, as well as

Desired Experience & Qualification

Any major in agricultural science (agronomy, plant/crop science, horticulture, plant physiology, animal husbandry, plant biotechnology, etc.) or a related discipline with a master’s or doctoral degree is acceptable.
Experience working with and advising farmers directly through the creative translation of farm data and the construction of new data collection locations for at least three years.
knowledge of modeling and measuring soil carbon, as well as inferential statistics
and extensive knowledge in data analysis
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with people from different backgrounds, such as business teams, scientists, and software engineers
