- ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR PEROMNES, LEVEL A6, POSITION NUMBER P001437, NORTH-WEST UNIVERSITY FACULTY OF EDUCATION, SCHOOL OF LANGUAGE EDUCATION STABLE POSITION Providing high-quality support for the Subject Group: English for Education’s teaching and learning, research and innovation, community involvement, and commercialization initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities
- teaching a range of English courses in teacher training programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels using a multimodal delivery approach. It is necessary to have knowledge and experience teaching English at the college or school level. in English language education, supervise graduate students.
conduct analysis in the areas of teaching and learning languages.
Active involvement in the creation of community-based research through the adaptation and design of service-learning modules as well as the initiation and direction of engaged scholarship initiatives. - Planning, organizing, and record-keeping as part of topic (module) administration in conformity with the teaching philosophy of the faculty and close cooperation with the subject group (meetings).
- Active participation is required for the WIL (Work Integrated Learning) program to be operationalized at all levels.

Desired Experience & Qualification
- Ph.D. in English language, English language education or a related field A professional degree in language teaching didactics and methodologies plus five years of tertiary-level practical experience in a related field Consistent publishing history in publications and journals with proper accreditation at least two Masters studies and one Ph.D. study have been successfully supervised.
- 5 years of primary and/or secondary level functional and subject-related experience.
- SACE registration.
- English HL and/or FAL as a subject Teaching abilities include assessment skills, Microsoft Office Suite computer proficiency, and language methodology and didactics. Postgraduate degree supervision or co-supervision
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
- High level of work ethics; communication; ability to work both independently and as a member of a topic group (team); ability to design own structures, meet deadlines, and work independently.
