Purpose
- To improve the Senior Management Service’s recruitment process and guarantee that senior managers are qualified for their positions.
Target group
- The training is for public servants and civilians who want to apply for a post in the Public Service’s Senior Management Service.
What are the minimum qualifications and experience required for a position in the Public Service’s Senior Management Service?
Take aware of the following additional criteria before enrolling in the course:

13 | Undergraduate qualification at NQF Level 7 | Experience in middle management for five years |
14 | Undergraduate qualification at NQF Level 7 | Five years of senior management experience |
15 and 16 | Postgraduate qualification at NQF Level 8 | Eight years of senior management experience: At least three years of this experience must be with a government agency for someone who wants to be a Head of a Department. |
Accreditation
- This course is not for credit. Participants will get a Certificate of Successful Completion once all course criteria have been satisfied.
Duration
- Participants can learn at their own speed and at their own time. The course takes about 120 hours to complete, including all evaluation tasks.
