To ensure that bank and GL cash accounts are reconciled accurately and on time.

Duties & Responsibilities

Provide accurate and timely bank account and general ledger reconciliations.
Prepare reconciliations for accounts with complex or high transaction volumes.
Enter accounting data into Oracle.
Resolve outstanding reconciling items for Main Bank and other bank reconciliations, including bank recons for other African countries, as soon as possible.
Cash, card, and float GL account analysis
Collect and prepare money market data on a daily basis, and look into any differences between estimates and actuals.
Resolve outstanding reconciling items for bank reconciliations as soon as possible.
Develop strong working relationships with the bank, stores, regional administration offices, line managers, and financial analysts.
Accounts must be accurately balanced and reconciled in accordance with accounting best practices.
Examine bank card commission fees (Amex, Diners, Debit, and Credit cards)
Prepare monthly bank charge accruals as needed.
Perform ad hoc administrative tasks

Desired Experience & Qualification

Technical Skills:

Accounting qualification with at least one year of relevant industry experience, or matric with at least five years of relevant industry experience
Excel is required, and Oracle (General Ledger) is advantageous.
Basic accounting practices knowledge
Analytical
and investigative skills
Experience with bank reconciliation is required.
