  • The purpose of this page is to give information on job openings in the Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment that has been posted (DFFE). Application procedures, as well as required application forms and paperwork, are all included in the information.

Extension of closing dates

  • Please take note of the following three (3) State Veterinarian positions: Organisms that live in water FIM17/2022, FIM18/2022, and FIM17/2022 for Scientific Technician Control: Grade A and FIM18/2022 for Engineering Technician Control: Grade A. POST 3/27, POST 4/27, and POST 4/27 were advertised as POST 3/27, POST 4/27, and POST 4/27 in Public Service Vacancy Circular 17 of 2022 dated Friday, 13 MAY 2022; their closing date was Monday, 06 June 2022, and has now been extended to Monday, 27 June 2022.

  • Please be advised that the position of Deputy Director: Proclaimed Fishing Harbours Management, posted on the departmental website with Ref No: FIM16/2022 and slated to close on June 6, 2022, has been withdrawn.
  • Please be advised that the positions of Assistant Director: Global Environment Facility 7 – Pilla 2 (Financial Management) (5-Year Contract) and Assistant Director: Global Environment Facility 7 – Pilla 2 (Procurement) (5-Year Contract) were advertised on PSVC circular 19 dated 27 May 2022 and the DFFE website have been withdrawn.

  • Please be aware that if you do not complete, initial, and sign the newly modified Z83 in its whole, the department reserves the right to disqualify your application.

    All SMS applicants must get a pre-entry certificate from the National School of Government (NSG) in accordance with the Directive on Compulsory Capacity Development, Mandatory Training Days, and Minimum Entry Requirements for SMS, which went into effect on April 1, 2015.
  • The course is called “certificate for admission into SMS” at the NSG, and further information can be found at the following link:https://www.thensg.gov.za/training-course/sms-pre-entryprogramme/.
  • Candidates who have been shortlisted must show proof of successful completion of the course.
  • Candidates for the SMS position will also be exposed to a technical exercise that will test essential technical aspects of the job.
  • A security clearance, as well as the signing of a performance agreement and an employment contract, will be required of the person assigned to this post.
  • The department has the discretion to refuse to schedule an appointment.
