UNIV OF THE NORTH-WEST (MAHIKENG CAMPUS) Natural and Agricultural Sciences as a Faculty POSITION AVAILABLE: POULTRY TECHNICIAN PEROMNES NUMBER: P11 M000452 OBJECTIVE OF THE POST: Assist the poultry production unit in operating efficiently while adhering to the necessary procedures and health and safety regulations set forth by the poultry industry and the North-West University. help the academic staff out with poultry practicals. Additionally, be able to do any additional tasks delegated by the HOD of the Animal Science Department or the Director of the School of Agriculture.

Duties & Responsibilities

During practical sessions, assist academic staff with all training activities, demonstrations, supervision, and evaluation of the poultry production students.
Assume the initiative in overseeing and grading students’ participation in WIL-related activities.
Keeping an eye on consumables and inventories to make sure that the poultry production unit is well-stocked and resourced.
Assist academic staff members and graduate students with their research projects on poultry.
The creation and filing of reports, as well as concerns with administration, monitoring, and documentation.
Ensure student safety in compliance with the standards for health, safety, and quality control.
Constant stock and equipment monitoring, prompt stock replacement, and regular maintenance and equipment repair.

Desired Experience & Qualification

MSc in Animal Science/Animal Production is required, and SACNASP accreditation is preferred.
SASAS membership
One year of experience as a manager or supervisor of poultry

Take part in community outreach initiatives for raising poultry.
Understanding of protocol, honesty, respect, and punctuality.
Product marketing, animal sales, and auctions • Statistical analysis, as well as proficient writing
