Senior Legal Project Manager

Position Details

In addition to leading and assisting Local Community Organizations in creating cases to hold the client accountable, the person in this position will be responsible for the support, direction, and growth of NGOs’ capacity and resources to empower and support the work done.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, knowledge of local government, and a full understanding of the local government environment in South Africa will be crucial for the incumbent, who must be passionate about assisting locals in doing so.
Management of local government matters
Legal document drafting, including pleadings, applications, and complaints (both civil and criminal).
Planning a case
Support, direction, and oversight of the legal team, including but not restricted to the creation, execution, and management of legal procedures
Understanding the characteristics of the legal team, managing them, and fostering positive relationships

Minimum requirements:

solid project management background
a post requiring a minimum of five years’ experience in local government.
Requires a degree in law or a closely connected subject.
active citizenship background
working familiarity with local government terminology and laws
knowing the established legal procedures
principles, creation, and execution of training
solid working understanding of the Municipal Structures Act, Municipal Systems Act, and other pertinent laws.
proficiency with the necessary software programs, such as Microsoft Office and Project Management
