- The Manager will be in charge of leading and managing the Electrical Section within the Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering departments to ensure effective electrical system design and implementation.
Duties & Responsibilities
Job Purpose
- Overall responsibility for the design integrity and performance of electrical systems
- Maintain, apply, and advise on necessary engineering regulations and standards, as well as assure proper engineering procedures.
- In conjunction with the required Engineering disciplines, evaluate and approve electrical design requirements.
- Technical Specifications, tender compilations, tender evaluations, and contract management are all responsibilities.
- Liaise with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure that services are delivered efficiently.
- Manage and direct many concurrent Technology projects
- Electrical resource scheduling in relation to projects and tasks
- Coordinate work with other disciplines such as civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and network engineering. Provide electrical engineering solutions to network problems and advice to Regional Operations and Maintenance.
- Conduct audits on transmitter locations to evaluate improvements and compliance with applicable legislation.
- Prepare and manage the department’s CAPEX and OPEX.
- To ensure the successful conceptual development and execution of capital and maintenance projects, plan, schedule, cost & financial controls, quality control & assurance, construction, and Black Economic Empowerment & contracts management.
- Ensure that dangers to health and safety are reported, monitored, and mitigated.
- Identify the dangers, quantify them, and devise a remedy.
- Manage and oversee the procurement and purchasing processes.
- Prepares job specifications does product research, and communicates with vendors for tender and quotation reasons.
