Duties & Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
  • Recruitment of undergraduate and postgraduate students (through contact and distance) to satisfy the NWU’s enrollment targets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Marketing
  • Individual recruitment of well-balanced and academically brilliant prospective students, including identifying pupils already in grade 9.
  • Respond to pre-grad recruitment app inquiries
  • Maintain positive relationships with the headmaster, LO teacher, and other educational stakeholders.
  • Regular communication with school contacts via WhatsApp, emails, phone calls, SMS, and so on.
  • During campaigns, market university options to schools such as Gr12, 11,9, Career guidance, Subject choice, and Parent evenings.
  • Webinars, Virtual Open Days, and Virtual Tours can be used to promote the university’s brand attributes.
  • Encourage people to use the Interest Index.
  • At schools, promote and sell the Young Eagles Program, and Virtual Tours, and gather opt-in information.
  • Identify Young Eagles during campaigns in grades 9, 11, and 12.
  • Assist with information on the many bursaries available from the university and other institutions.
  • As decided and agreed upon in negotiations with management, communicate with the allocated faculty.
  • Send a monthly report to the manager. Take part in all staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Career fairs are used to promote the University and its courses.

Projects

  • Responsible for the recruiting of minority group mentors and ambassadors on MC.
  • Collaborate with the Department of Education to provide marketing materials to rural schools.
  • MC Young Eagles campus liaison
  • On MC, I am in charge of the recruitment bursaries (Young Eagle).

Liaison

  • School visits and recruitment of students to comply to the University/Campus/Faculties/Academic schools enrolment plan through grade 12 and grade 11 visits and parent evenings
    Liaise with principals, teachers, and senior government officials to promote the University and its role in education.

Activations and Sponsorships

  • Identifying and managing strategic sponsorships with an emphasis on the school sector, as well as liaising with teachers and headmasters in the sector
  • Events and promotions are used to raise overall brand awareness. Digital marketing and promotion of the university’s programs
  • Career fairs are used to promote the university and its courses.
  • Digital marketing and advertising entail recruiting, gathering data, and then disseminating information to prospective students, handling inquiries, and utilizing systems to improve campaigns.

Ad Hoc

  • Attend all training and staff sessions as assigned by the manager and/or director

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • A four-year teaching qualification or a B-Degree (NQF7) with a PGCE and a career counseling module (essential)
    Postgraduate Qualification in Psychology, Industrial Psychology, or Educational Psychology (NQF8) (desirable)
  • 5 years of teaching and career counseling experience (essential)
  • 3 years of demonstrated job experience in the university sector, as well as an understanding of study fields and recruitment procedures (essential)
  • 3 years of experience advising teachers, parents, and students on subject selection (essential)
