Introduction

  • The Construction Management Services team must be managed by the Resident Engineer, who reports to the Project Manager. In order to meet the project’s scope, budget, schedule, quality, environmental, and safety objectives for the Works in accordance with the project contract document, regulatory, and statutory requirements, the Resident Engineer is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, controlling, and reporting on all construction and construction-related activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordination and facilitation of general project civil and construction activities
  • interacting with the design team and helping to resolve design issues
  • To aid in the facilitation of service designs, wayleave approvals, and coordination
  • directing the site surveillance crew
  • contract management
  • program monitoring and reporting
  • Other responsibilities and/or services as directed by the line manager to help a project be completed successfully or to help the business unit run smoothly.
  • Evaluation and auditing of quality plans
  • Site audits, inspections, and acceptance or rejection of quality control tests
  • Measurement and attestation of accuracy of job Cash flow forecasting
  • Organizing meetings and minutes for a site
  • public relations
  • management of the as-built reports, OHS, ISO, and EMP completion reports on the site
  • site quality assurance
  • Maintain the project’s quality assurance documentation Cost reporting on a monthly basis, or as directed

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • a Civil Engineering degree with ECSA registration (PrEng/PrTech).
  • 8+ years of experience.
  • general civil engineering with experience in water infrastructure
  • The JBCC version 5 (2007) contract documentation must be understood.
  • It will be desirable to have experience working on projects for clients in the public sector.
