SRD R350 grant application Requirements

Type of Grants that Sassa gives and their Requirements
Older Person’s Grant
Candidates should meet the requirements listed below:
- The candidate must be a legal permanent resident, a refugee, or a citizen of South Africa.
- The applicant must be a South African national.
- At least 60 years of age is required.
- A personal social grant cannot be accepted by the nominee.
- The means test must be passed by both the candidate and spouse.
- A public institution is unable to accommodate or assist the petitioner.

Child Support Grant

- The primary caregiver must be a refugee, a South African national, or a long-term occupant.
- Both the petitioner and the child must be citizens of South Africa.
- The applicant must be the primary caregiver for the child.
- The child or children in question must be under the age of 18.
- Both the candidate and the spouse must meet the requirements of the means test.
- Six kids are the most that can be requested non-biologically.
- The child cannot be cared for in a public area.
Foster Child Grant
Candidates should meet the requirements listed below:
- Foster parents are required to be citizens of South Africa, refugees, or long-term residents.
- The petitioner and the kid must both be South African citizens.
- For the period of the award, the foster parent(s) must have been granted legal custody of the child.

Care Dependency Grant

- The applicant must be a citizen of South Africa.
- The applicant must be between the ages of 18 and 59.

Grant-in-Aid
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Due to a physical or mental impairment, the applicant must regularly require support from another person to conduct everyday duties. They must also be in possession of a War
- Veterans Grant, a Grant for Persons with Disabilities, or a Grant for Older Persons.
- An institution that receives state funds for the applicant’s lodging or care may not provide care for the application.

How to apply SRD grant applications
There are three methods for applicants to employ in the Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD) online application procedure, including::

APPLICATION VIA WHATSAPP

- Open a new tab in your browser. Google Chrome, Mozilla, Opera Mini, etc.
- To find it, type https://srd.sassa.gov.za.
- Following the entry of their ID and phone number, the applicant hits the send SMS button.
- A 6-digit OTP will be given to the applicant.
- The applicant must enter the OTP number and select a pin in order to validate.
- Please proceed to Step 2: ACKNOWLEDGE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
APPLICATION THROUGH CHATBOT
To apply through the SASSA Chatbot, follow the procedures outlined below.
- Open a new tab in your browser.
- Online users can reach the www.sassa.gov.za website.
- The applicant will select the website’s chat box to receive assistance for the SRD R350 Grant.
- Both the applicant’s ID number and phone number are provided.
- The dialogue response that the candidate will select is “I want to apply for the SRD R350 prize.”
- There will be a link to the SRD website provided by the chatbot.
- The applicant will adhere to the guidelines listed on the SRD website.
