SENIOR OFFICER: RESIDENCE PLACEMENTS

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage undergraduate/postgraduate student recruitment and placement functions, inquiries, and student housing accounts of assigned residences in accordance with placement regulations and procedures.
Information on the Residence PeopleSoft system should be updated and processed. - Plan for the availability of student housing;
Extract reports from the Residence PeopleSoft system in order to provide lists and reports to House Committees, Heads of Residence, and Building Coordinators. - Communication and client service:
Regularly review and update existing communications;
As needed, collect information and produce informative pamphlets.
Proofreading of communications, publications, and other materials;
Improve communication with undergraduate/postgraduate students by modifying procedures and processes. - Accounts and finances: Respond to account-related inquiries, as well as basic financial inquiries and calculations;
Attend to first-tier escalation problems, and if they cannot be resolved, refer to the management.
Follow-up on open rooms to verify that capacity is fully utilized in order to avoid financial loss. - Inquiries and general administration:
Documentation and management information should be filed and drawn;
Respond to generic inquiries about certain departments within the department;
Liaison with students, Heads of Residence, Coordinators: Residence Facilities, the general public, visitors in residence, other institutions, suppliers, clients’ parents, and so on.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in OR Relevant National Diploma and four years of experience in: Residence/housing placement in an academic or other corporate accommodation facilities
Administration; Financial experience, including accounts and answering financial issues; Quality control of all formats of correspondence; Project planning; Reservation and placement of visitors
DETAILS ON SALARY
- According to UP policy guidelines, the annual salary package would be appropriate for the incumbent’s level of appointment. UP participates in the BESTMED and UMVUZO medical aid programs, contributing 50% of the applicable monthly fee.
