MINISTER

• On August 5, 2021, Ms. Stella Tembisa Ndabeni-Abrahams was named Minister of Small Business Development. She served as the Republic of South Africa’s Minister of Communications from November 22, 2018, to August 5, 2021.
• Ms. Ndabeni-Abrahams was previously the Deputy Minister of Communications from 26 May 2014 to 30 March 2017, and thereafter the Deputy Minister of Telecommunications and Postal Services till 21 November 2018. She was born in Sakhela Village, Mthatha in the Eastern Cape. She was Deputy Minister in the then-DoC (now DTPS) from 25 October 2011 to 25 May 2014, just before the 2014 general elections.

Academic Credentials

• She has a Diploma in Telecommunications and Management Systems from the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation, as well as a Certificate in Telecommunications, Policy and Regulation Management from Wits University.
• Ms. Ndabeni-Abrahams has served on the following committees in the House of Commons:
• In 2011, I was a member of the Portfolio Committee on Communications and the Committee Whip.
• From 2009 to 2011, She was a member of the Portfolio Committee on Defence and the Committee Whip.
• Intelligence and Defense; and
• Political Education Sub-Committee of the African National Congress (ANC) Parliamentary Caucus.

• She is a member of the ANC Eastern Cape Provincial Executive and Provincial Working Committees at the moment. From 2003 until 2009, Ms. Ndabeni-Abrahams worked as a Project Manager for the Eastern Cape Socio-Economic Consultative Council before becoming a Member of Parliament. She received the Premier’s Award for her volunteer work focused at improving people’s lives.

Minister is presently enrolled in Robert Kennedy College Zurich, where she is pursuing her MSc in Computer and International Business.
