Introduction

Bergvliet High School (BHS) is looking for a dynamic, energizing, and visionary leader to guide the school through its upcoming, exciting stage of growth. The selected applicant must be able to inspire and guide the school in a way that builds on its illustrious history of fostering the intellectual, cultural, and all-around development of its students. The Western Cape Education Department will choose the start date, and the position will be vacant as of 1 March 2023. (WCED).

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Academic Requirements for Senior Phase and FET (REQV13)
Be a member of SACE.
A minimum of seven years of teaching experience, four of which should have been spent in the position of Deputy Principal or Principal and three of which must have been spent as a member of the Senior Management team.
Comprehensive understanding of the curriculum from Grades 8 through 12.
Exhibited a comprehension of and familiarity with the essential legal frameworks necessary for managing a school, including those that govern professional associations, labor unions, and the education department.
Excellent command of both written and spoken English. It would be advantageous to speak Afrikaans or isiXhosa fluently.
excellence in the workplace, both personally and professionally.
Expertise and understanding in the use of information technology and computer programs, particularly WCED systems, financial software, and cloud computing. being able to use and analyze data from numerous programs for school management and development.
Prior to appointment, a Competency Assessment must be completed and passed.
