Technical Officer (Job Level 10)

Duties/Pligte

using a variety of soldering, mounting, and manufacturing techniques to create and fill printed circuit boards (PCBs);
providing staff and students with specialized support for PCB manufacture and soldering;
giving help on circuit design and soldering to undergraduate and graduate students;
maintaining and running the equipment and facilities used to manufacture PCBs and solder;
Materials, tools, and components used in soldering and PCB manufacture are managed as assets and inventories.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

matriculation (or the NQF level 4 equivalent, the National Senior Certificate);
Engineering-related N2 Diploma (or NCV at NQF Level 2 or similar);
a minimum of five years of technical expertise, particularly in electronics soldering, in support of an academic Matric;
the capacity and readiness to pick up new abilities and pursue new training;
the capacity to operate both individually and together.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling

Relevant NCV at NQF level 3 or higher, or an N3 engineering diploma;
experience with electricity or electronics;
appropriate knowledge of PCB design tools, such as Altium (or KiCad).
