Electrical Engineering Practice II – EPR201E

Module presented in English
24 weeks of experiential learning under the supervision of a qualified supervisor in at least five of the following fields: Power transformers; AC and DC machines; rectification and conversion; protection systems; switches and circuit breakers; installation and commissioning of equipment; testing and fault finding; drawing and design; and any other task agreed upon with the Institution. Work-directed and industry-based Electrical Engineering Project is an industry-based engineering project in which students attempt to solve industry-related problems. This training allows students to apply their technical knowledge to real-world problem situations while also learning about typical organizational culture, human relations, and working conditions. Students will be taught to work independently and develop an understanding of industry ethics and requirements with appropriate guidance and supervision. Where necessary, experimental laboratory work will be carried out on the Florida campus’s electrical engineering laboratories.
Digital Control Technology – ECT4801

This qualification is primarily vocational or industry oriented, with an emphasis on general principles in digital control systems of Electrical Engineering technology transfer. The module gives students a solid understanding of a subfield of electronics. This Digital Control Technology module is a branch of control theory that employs digital computers as system controllers. A digital control system can range from a microcontroller to a standard desktop computer, depending on the requirements. This module provides students with knowledge of digital control systems as well as the ability to apply that knowledge to analyze complex digital control systems and design digital controllers. Engineering students who complete this qualification will be able to demonstrate competence in all of the Exit Level Outcomes.
